FUTURE PROS

           DRYLAND

Off ice or Dryland training has become a must for today’s hockey player.  Dryland will work in concert with the Elite Off Ice program to provide a full summer of hockey training.  A combination of plyometric and sprint interval training will develop overall fitness, with an emphasis on improving leg strength and developing the “fast twitch” muscle fibers that are responsible for speed and quickness.

 DRYLAND SKILLS

·  PLYOMETRICS- a series of jumping and bounding exercises that improve explosiveness and balance

·  OVERSPEED TRAINING- a series of sprinting and quickness drills designed to increase foot speed

·  TEAM HANDBALL- several teams games to promote communication, movement, and support

·  BUNGEE CORD RESISTANCE TRAINING

·  UPPER BODY RESISTANCE TRAINING

FUTURE PROS COMPLETE

The Complete camp is virtually two camps in one. Each morning session will focus exclusively on power skating, with each afternoon focusing on individual skills.

COMPLETE MORNING

In this session we focus on skating technique, with the thought of practice makes permanent, but perfect practice makes perfect. Any technical flaw in a skaters stride acts as a limiting factor in how good that skater can become. Each camper will have his/her forward and backward stride videotaped, with the taped to be used as a learning tool to both highlight the positive and determine the underdeveloped parts of the campers stride.

 COMPLETE MORNING SKILLS

·  Forward/Backward Strides

·  Explosive Starts

·  Back Power Starts

·  Power Turns

·  Stopping

·  Forward/Backward Crossovers

·  Overspeed Training

·  Edge Development

COMLETE AFTERNOON

In this session the concentration will be placed on individual puck skills. Along with the puck skills each day at least one new hockey concept or team skill will be taught. The afternoon session will also feature a daily scrimmage that will allow the camper the opportunity to display his/her newly acquired skills.

COMPLETE AFTERNOON SKILLS

·  Stick handling

·  Shooting (wrist shot, slapshot, backhand)

·  Passing

·  Checking/Angling

·  Cycling/Puck Protection

·  Attack Zone Triangle

·  Gap Control

·  BIG GAME ON FRIDAY

This is an all day camp that will feature both on ice and off ice activities. Off ice the campers can expect to play games such as team handball, soccer, baseball, and of course no week is complete without a day at the pool( Line Creek only). Because Complete focuses on individual skills, everyone from the travel player to the house league player will take his game to the next level.

         FUTURE PROS ELITE

Elite is a four week progressive training program for the Competitive player. This is a program I have been teaching in my hometown of Rochester, Minnesota for several years, with tremendous results. Many players from that program have gone on to receive college scholarships and have even been drafted into the NHL( Alumni of Elite Program).  Elite will involve on and off ice pro style training aimed at teaching it’s participants the dedication they will need to take their game to the next level. Each  Elite day will consist of one competitive on ice session and one intense off ice training session.

ELITE ON ICE

A player’s “Comfort Level” is defined as the speed at which that player feels comfortable skating, shooting, and making plays. By playing and competing daily against other Elite players, the Elite camper will pushed to raise his “comfort level”.

ELITE OFF ICE

Hockey players are stronger and faster now than ever before. Off ice speed and strength training is a must for the competitive player.  The speed and power it takes to be an Elite player can only be developed through hard work. Elite Off Ice will develop overall fitness with an emphasis on improving leg strength and stimulating the “fast twitch” muscle fibers that are responsible for speed and quickness. With improved fitness comes confidence and with confidence the Elite player will take his game to the next level.
